The SIA believes that the provision and maintenance of the supply of heat during the winter months is an essential service and, therefore, stove and fireplace retailers can remain open and can continue to service and install heating appliances in residential homes during lockdown, provided all the appropriate social distancing and protective equipment guidelines are strictly adhered to.
